Actually, except in public buildings and school grounds, there are no California state regulations on how long a knife you can carry. Some specialty swords which are hidden (such as cane swords) are prohibited. Otherwise, this would be regulated as a dirk or dagger, meaning you could not carry it concealed on your person, but possession is otherwise lawful. It is illegal to have weapons in parks and recreation facilities in National City, so you probably cannot have your sword in those places.

Not Sure. There are laws on how long of a blade you can have on a knife that you carry, but not sure on the laws for Katana’s. Your most reliable source would be to Call the Sheriffs department on the NON EMERGENCY phone number in the phone book, and ask them specifically. They will tell you about any restrictions, storage, etc.

    Hello,

We have shipped Japanese Katana Swords to CA and your zip code and have not come across any restrictions for the swords. These swords are often used for martial arts hence no restriction.
