How can I paint a wooden sword and have it be temporary?

I bought a hard wood practice katana sword for a comic book convention. I would like to have it be pink (as I am being psylocke) But I don’t want to paint it and have the sword be permanently pink. Would acryllic come off easy? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paint paper the color pink you would use and then use the paper to wrap the sword in. You may have to experiment with different types of paper to see which one works best. Or you could cover the sword in paper mache and then paint that. That might work the best.

Painting the wood directly would be a bad idea since you’ll never get all of the paint off.

You could get pink duck tape.

Get some of that pink wrap like sportsmen wear on their wrists and other joints. It won’t leave as much of a residue as duct tape would. You should be able to find it at any sporting goods store.

You can also get pink marking tape like what they use to mark property lines. You can find it at any hardware store.

Have a look in a craft/art shop for pink sticky backed plastic.
