Is it weird to own a katana?
I’ve recently been getting into Japanese ancient culture and was thinking about buying a katana in the future. It would be for decoration purposes only. I feel like its kinda weird though and women might be turned off to go into an apartment and see a katana as decorative art. whats you opinion?
If you have other Japanese decorative features in your apartment, the katana will look right at home. I don’t think it will put women off. (But I’m a guy. Get some women’s opinions.)
Unless your entire decor is weapons and more weapons!
I’ve seen the 3 sword mounted decorative sets in many houses, & never heard anyone say anything about the owners being weapons nuts. Decorative swords are actually quite common. I used to have some myself, actually still do, somewhere…

By the way, Duncan MacCloud was Scottish. He wielded an English Broad Sword, not a Japanese Katana.
